Heat

dress: UO // oxfords: Anthro // pearls: Premier Design Jewelry

Madeline and I decided to have a tiny photo shoot on Mother's Day. I figured it was fitting since she is my little baby. After a very short walk + these pictures, she went in the house and laid down, like she'd just run a marathon. I'm already sweating just thinking about South Florida heat (and summer hasn't EVEN started yet), but I am a fan of how tired + calm it makes Madeline. From one doggy parent to another, this is great. She's going to be an angel this summer.

P.S. This dress was $12 at Urban. I love sales.

Ombre

dress: Etiquette Boutique // belt + cardi: Anthropologie // purse + watch: Charming Charlie

1. I am the whitest South Floridian. I really need to go outside every once in awhile.
2. Someone complimented my hair the other day. She loved my ombre look. Finally! It doesn't just look like I've neglected to color my hair. This is on purpose people.
3. The more accessories the better. Layering, anyone?

Pen to Paper

pants + belt: Anthropologie // top: H+M // purse: Tea + Tulips // flats: Target

Busy. Busy. Busy. That's what the past two weeks have been like. Outfit pictures and blogging took an unpredicted hiatus due to it's back burner placement on my to do list. Every time I sat at the computer to edit photos, I got distracted with other things or simply ran out of time. It was one of those things where everyday I kept saying "I'll do it tomorrow" and two weeks later tomorrow has finally happened.

I've learned, though, that I missed writing. Even just a paragraph or two a few times a week keeps me sane and fulfills my desire to write. I went from writing for a school newspaper every day to not writing at all. So this blog is a way to showcase my outfits, but also a way for me to put pen to paper (not literally, of course). I learn something new about myself every day.

100 More

pants, oxfords + top: Anthropologie

Hundreds of pictures.
Thousands of words.
Too many outfits.

Today marks my 100th post! It's pretty crazy to think that I've sat at this computer for one hundred times, edited photos, and wrote something about my life, my outfit, or my thoughts. If this blog turns into nothing more than a hobby that keeps track of my outfits, I'm fine with that. It's been a fun ride expressing myself through these posts. And I'm ready for 100 more.

Style Bubble

pants, shirt + belt: Anthropologie // shoes:  Target // purse: Forever 21

One of the best things about fashion is that your outfits can be completely different from one day to the next. On Monday I could dress preppy, on Wednesday I could dress vintage, and on Friday I could dress bohemian. Today's outfit is not something I would normally wear. I haven't worn loose fitting pants since skinny jeans came into the picture, but that's the beauty of clothes. You don't have to stay inside your little style bubble.

My posts have been a little non-existent this week. Between work, researching + looking at venues (crazy talk!), and sleeping, it's just been one of those weeks. Hopefully, next week I'll be back at it. Madeline hasn't been on here in awhile. I think I need to fix that.

P.S. Sorry for the gratuitous pictures of my ring. It's my first post featuring it. I felt like a photo shoot of it was mandatory.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

pants + shirt: Etiquette Boutique // boots: H+M // purse: Forever 21

Standing on your feet all day for work makes you quickly realize how uncomfortable all of your shoes are. After 9 hours, you realize bandaids + socks are your best friend. So when I found these boots at H+M for $20, I knew it was meant to be. They were cheap, they're cute and, most importantly, they're comfortable.

If you haven't noticed yet, it's the beginning of April showers outside. Today's one of those gloomy + rainy  days that I wish I could've spent crafting or drawing or sewing. Instead, I'm cleaning. What's up with that. I think a trip to Michael's is in store.

DIY Mouse Pad

This DIY is courtesy of my wonderful friend + "biggest blog fan," Steph. She wanted to change her mouse pad without buying a new one so she used some leftover fabric to create this easy project.

Supplies: scissors, fabric, hot glue gun

1. Cut out your choice of fabric by adding a 1" border to the dimensions of the mouse pad.
2. Cut two slits at each corner so you will have clean edges when folding the fabric.
3. Apply hot glue to the mouse pad and stick the fabric to it and fold over the edges.
